President Donald Trump weighed in on the controversial Jussie Smollett case on Thursday morning — and it’s bad news for the Hollywood actor.
“FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago,” Trump announced.
He added: “It is an embarrassment to our Nation!”
In a stunning move, prosecutors dropped all charges against Smollett for allegedly faking a hate crime even though they still believe he’s guilty. Smollett repeatedly struck a deal with prosecutors to perform some unofficial community service for one weekend in exchange for the charges being dropped.
Many are calling it a gross miscarriage of justice.
You might recall that Smollett initially claimed that two white Trump supporters attacked him while shouting homophobic and racial slurs. He also claimed they yelled, “This is MAGA country.”
It later emerged that his so-called “attackers” were two Nigerian brothers who he actually knew. Police later discovered that Smollett paid them by check, which the brothers later confessed was payment for staging the attack.
One of Smollett’s attorneys actually claimed on Thursday that the Nigerian brothers may have been wearing “whiteface” during the attack in a desperate attempt to explain the inconsistencies in Jussie’s story.

At this point, it’s just embarrassing.
The Chicago Police Department, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and even the State's Attorney's office still believe Smollett is guilty of faking a hate crime.
