President Donald Trump gave reporters an update on his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, before leaving Singapore on Tuesday, telling them that she is “doing great.”
Trump revealed that Melania was actually on blood thinners and was ordered by a doctor not to fly for at least 30 days following her kidney surgery to address a benign condition last month.
“Thirty days. I don’t know what it it is, but 30 days she’s not supposed to fly. She’s doing great. In fact, she was at Ford’s theater last night,” Trump reportedly said.
Many Trump critics pushed bizarre conspiracy theories after the first lady took time to rest following her surgery. The rumors only intensified when it was announced that Melania wouldn’t be joining the president in Singapore for his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Melania Trump was at a gala at Ford’s Theater for an event honoring President Abraham Lincoln on Sunday night. She is doing just fine.
“Thank you @Fordstheatre & the talented performers for a special evening celebrating the arts & the legacy of former President Lincoln. Congratulations to @jacknicklaus & Sheila Johnson, the recipients of the Lincoln Medal,” she captioned her post on Instagram, along with a handful of pictures from the evening,” she wrote on Instagram.
Even without his wife by his side, President Trump pulled off a historic achievement and signed an agreement with North Korea to work toward the total denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
“Great progress was made on the denuclearization of North Korea. Hostages are back home, will be getting the remains of our great heroes back to their families, no missiles shot, no research happening, sites closing," Trump tweeted.
