President Donald Trump invited Angel Mom Ann Mendoza into the Oval Office to hear her story as he fights to secure America’s borders.
The president took the grieving mother's hand, and then he did something that Barack Obama refused to do during his two terms as president: he listened.
“My son was killed in 2014 by a repeat illegal alien criminal allowed to stay in this country,” Mendoza said. “He was a police officer in Mesa, Arizona.”
President Trump can be seen on video shaking his head in outrage at the mother's loss at the hands of an illegal immigrant.
She continued: “Angel Families come forward to tell their stories, not because we have created a ‘manufactured’ crisis, but because we want to tell the American people and share with you our heartache.”
“There is a way to prevent this, and it’s not by continually lying to you and telling you that there is not a problem,” she concluded. “There is a problem, it is a national emergency.”

The border crisis continues to be a top priority to President Trump. He recently vetoed a bill from Congress rejecting his national emergency declaration to attack the problem.
"Those Republican Senators who voted in favor of Strong Border Security (and the Wall) are being uniformly praised as they return to their States," Trump recently tweeted. "They know there is a National Emergency at the Southern Border, and they had the courage to ACT. Great job!"
"I look forward to VETOING the just passed Democrat inspired Resolution which would OPEN BORDERS while increasing Crime, Drugs, and Trafficking in our Country," Trump wrote in a previous tweeted. "I thank all of the Strong Republicans who voted to support Border Security and our desperately needed WALL!"
