President Donald Trump issued a harsh warning to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday night, informing him that the United States is no longer a nation that will tolerate the nation's threats.
The message was blistering and in all caps, clearly meant to emphasize the seriousness of the warning.
“To Iranian President Rouhani: NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE,” Trump tweeted.
He added, “WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”
President Trump's tough talk might have to do with the Iranian regime's ongoing support of terrorism.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently revealed that Iran is currently plotting terrorist attacks in "the heart of Europe."
Former President Barack Obama infamously signed the Iran nuclear deal and gave nearly $2 billion to the terror-supporting nation.
"Handel said the Obama administration admitted that nearly $2 billion flown to Iran is being used to fund terrorism and various supporting activities. She is more specific than the record supports. One way or another, the United States transferred $1.7 billion owed to Iran," Politifact reported. "As for what the administration admitted, Kerry said it was likely that some portion of any money Iran received would go to its top security organization and some of that money would end up advancing terrorism."
There is definitely a new sheriff in town.
