President Donald Trump warned would-be illegal immigrants approaching the US-Mexico border in the nearly 6,000 person strong caravan that anyone throwing rocks at US law enforcement or military would be considered the same as using a firearm.
“Anybody throwing stones, rocks, like they did to Mexico and the Mexican military, Mexican police, where they badly hurt police and soldiers of Mexico, we will consider that a firearm,” said President Trump.
“There’s not much difference when you get hit in the face with a rock.”
“We will consider it, the maximum that we can consider that…We’re not going to put up with that,” Trump continued. “They want to throw rocks at our military, our military fights back….I told them to consider it a rifle.”
Some migrants became violent when attempting to cross the border between Mexico and Guatemala and threw rocks at Mexican officials, causing multiple injuries.
Last month, President Trump launched a Twitter attack directed at both the migrants and the Democrats.
According to the Associated Press, the caravan’s size has grown to nearly 5,000 migrants and it intends to reach the US/Mexico border despite efforts by Mexican officials to stop it.
Here is what the President of the United States had to say:
“Full efforts are being made to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens from crossing our Souther Border. People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away. The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable!”
“The Caravans are a disgrace to the Democrat Party. Change the immigration laws NOW!”
“Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!”
“Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms! So unfair to those who come in legally.”
“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”
