President Donald Trump on Friday shared a design of the proposed “Steel Slat Barrier” to protect the U.S.-Mexico border — and it had the internet talking.

“A design of our Steel Slat Barrier which is totally effective while at the same time beautiful!” Trump tweeted.

President Trump has promised to veto any spending bill that doesn’t include roughly $5 billion in funding for border security. His showdown with pro-illegal immigration Democrats is sending the U.S. government toward a shutdown.

“Shutdown today if Democrats do not vote for Border Security!” Trump tweeted.

The president added: “Even President Ronald Reagan tried for 8 years to build a Border Wall, or Fence, and was unable to do so. Others also have tried. We will get it done, one way or the other!”

In a surprise move, Trump also called on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to use the so-called “nuclear option” to bypass Democrats and pass the spending bill in the Senate.

He tweeted, "Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done! Our Country is counting on you!”
