President Donald Trump’s love for America’s law enforcement was put on full display this week following a roundtable discussion about illegal immigration and MS-13 in Bethpage, New York.

The president was preparing to board Marine One when he suddenly noticed police officers standing nearby. Trump immediately turned and ran directly toward them.

Trump proceeded to shake every single one of the officers’ hands — he even saluted them too.

The officers were reportedly with the New York State Police and the Nassau County Police Department.

"@POTUS @realDonaldTrump loves our law enforcement officers all around the country - as seen here with @NYSPolice and @NassauCountyPD on his way to Marine One in Bethpage, New York,” Trump official Dan Scavino Jr. tweeted.

While it may seem like a small gesture, it shows that the president stands with America’s police officers during a time when anti-police rhetoric is running rampant. It is certainly not the first time Trump has honored police officers.

President Trump recently made headlines when he referred to the members of the brutal Mexican gang MS-13 as “animals.” When criticized by his liberal opponents, Trump and his administration doubled down.

“I’m referring, and you know I’m referring, to the MS-13 gangs that are coming in,” Trump told a reporter. “We have laws that are laughed at on immigration. So when the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as animals. And guess what — I always will.”

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders pointed to the media in her scathing response.

“If the media and liberals want to defend MS-13, they’re more than welcome to. Frankly I don’t think the term the president used was strong enough,” she said.
