President Donald Trump personally “thanked” CNN reporter Jim Acosta for proving his point for him that border walls are effective.
During a roundtable discussing border security on Friday, Trump looked directly at Acosta and told him “good job” on his reporting.
“Good job yesterday,” Trump said. “I appreciate your salesmanship.”
“I didn’t see any danger on the border, Mr. President,” Acosta responded.
Little did Acosta know, he stepped right into Trump’s trap.
“That’s because we had a wall,” Trump shot back.

Acosta traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday in an effort to prove Trump wrong about the border crisis. Instead, he ended up accidentally proving Trump's entire point.
Acosta declared that there were no signs of a “national emergency" – all while standing safely behind a border wall in McAllen, Texas.
“I found some steel slats down on the border,” Acosta tweeted. “But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today.”
Acosta was brutally mocked all day long for the video, turning it into a meme in favor of more border security.
President Trump on Friday warned Democrats that he could decide to declare a national emergency to build the border wall if Democrats refuse to approve money to protect America's border.
"If they cant do it, I will declare a national emergency," Trump said of Democrats.
