White House press secretary Sarah Sanders personally called Dennis Rodman to thank him for his support on behalf of President Donald Trump during his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Vice News published a video that reveals the entire call, which lasted just under two minutes.

“I know the president had seen some of your comments over the last several days and he just wanted me to reach out and thank you for some of the positive things you’ve said and appreciate you being helpful in this process,” Sanders told Rodman.

“Thank you very much,” Rodman responded. “It wasn’t my intention at the beginning of the whole situation as far as being connected with North Korea, but it seems like it turned out to be a very, very important event today, so I feel like that I had to be a part of it.”

Sanders replied, “Thank you, I know he appreciates it and again, we appreciate your support, you being here and being so vocal about it.”

Rodman, a longtime friend of Kim Jong Un, traveled to Singapore during Trump’s historic summit to support the peace efforts. He infamously broke down crying in a MAGA hat live on CNN because he was overjoyed by the positive developments in U.S.-North Korean relations.

Following hours of meetings, President Trump and Kim Jong Un signed a joint agreement to work toward the total denuclearization of the Korean peninsula in exchange for security assurances from the United States.

After arriving back in Washington, D.C., Trump declared that the nuclear threat posed by North Korea was over.

“Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea,” the president tweeted. “Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!”

He added, “Before taking office people were assuming that we were going to War with North Korea. President Obama said that North Korea was our biggest and most dangerous problem. No longer - sleep well tonight!”
