Isaac “Ike” Fabela received the surprise of a lifetime for his 100th birthday.

Fabela was born in 1918 and is a native of Montrose, Michigan. He served in World War II from 1944 to 1946 and even nearly saw action during D-Day. On June 6, 1944, he was taken off a boat bound for the beaches of Normandy.

On June 6, 2018, Fabela told his family that he hoped to get 100 birthday cards for his 100th birthday. It didn’t take long for his wish to spread like a wildfire on social media.

Even Hollywood superstar actor Chris Pratt joined in and spread the word.

Little did he know that his wish would well exceed his 100-card wish. 1,000 cards? Nope. 10,000 cards? Guess again.

The grand total exceeded 50,000 cards and gifts for Ike.

One card, however, was more special than all the rest.

Watch and see what “the big one” was in the video below.

A birthday card from the President of the United States of America! How special indeed!

Happy Birthday and thank you for your service, Ike!
