A conservative TV host announced on Wednesday that she is expecting twins, and she revealed that when her husband learned the news, he reacted so strongly he passed out.
In an interview with People, co-host Abby Huntsman of “The View” says she sensed that this pregnancy was different from her first one. Huntsman, 32, and her husband Jeffrey Livingston have a 13-year-old daughter named Isabel Grace.
“I knew something was different this time. I was actually worried that something was wrong with this pregnancy because I felt sick immediately. I was sick with Isabel, but not until about eight weeks, so I was worried something might have been wrong,” she said.
When Huntsman found out she was having twins, she told her parents, and “they started laughing.” Her husband had a much stronger reaction.
“When the doctor told us, my husband fainted, which was just classic,” Huntsman said. “I think he saw two sacs in there and I could see it on his face. He turned white, and then when the doctor told us, he fell. Another doctor had to come in, and they were wiping him down with towels and giving him sugar.”
She added wryly, “I was sitting there with my feet still in the straps. I’m like, ‘This is ridiculous. I’m the one that has to physically do this.’”
As for her daughter Isabel, she said, “She just turned 1, and to think you’re gonna be a big sister in just a few months, it’s crazy. But you know what? I think it helps you.”
“I’m one of seven kids, and I love being around a bunch of siblings because I think it teaches you independence, and it teaches you how to grow up quickly and also just be a good friend and be a good sister,” she added.
The daughter of U.S. Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman Jr. and the granddaughter of famed businessman and philanthropist Jon Huntsman Sr., the soon-to-be mother-of-three has made a name for herself in the news business, especially after joining Fox News. While not a staunch conservative, she did join Meghan McCain on “The View” to bring more balance to the largely liberal discussion panel.
Back in September, she had a big clash with Sunny Hostin on the show after the liberal co-host appeared to compare President Trump’s response to the hurricane devastation in Puerto Rico to that of a genocidal dictator.
“That’s comparing him to a Hitler, somebody that gasses their own people, that starves their people,” Huntsman responded to Hostin. “You think President Trump was in the Oval Office saying how can we make it worse for Puerto Ricans? How can we make it so more people die? You think that’s what happened in the White House?”
On Wednesday, Huntsman announced her pregnancy on “The View,” telling the cheering audience that she’s having a girl and a boy.
‘You’re such an incredible mother to Isabel, you’re going to be such an incredible mother to these two babies,” McCain told her on the show. “You and Jeff are such incredible parents. You make it look cool. I’m so happy for you!”
Congratulations to Huntsman and her family on the coming birth of her twins! Prayers for a safe pregnancy and delivery.
