MSNBC anchor Katy Tur suffered an on-air freakout after a conservative guest reminded her about the left’s past violent rhetoric against Republicans.
Radio host Erick Erickson argued President Donald Trump should “lay off” the press and should try to calm and unite the country in the wake of the attempted mail bombings targeting prominent Democrats.
However, he also said the left needs to tone down the rhetoric as well.
"I also think there are folks on the other side who need to tamp down on the rhetoric as well," Erickson said. “We had ricin attacks against Susan Collins and Ted Cruz last week and protesters chasing people out of restaurants. I think both sides need to calm down, which is one reason I think it's not really helpful right now is who started it."
However, Tur claimed it all started with Trump and no one else.
“Do we go back to Barack Obama, ‘take a gun to knife fight?’ … Do we go back to the Weather Underground in the 1960s or Tim McVeigh in the 1990s?”
Tur then exploded, telling Erickson, “Let me finish, this is my show!"
"I think that Donald Trump is a symptom of what is going on in this country. Your blood pressure going up over Donald Trump right now is a symptom of what's going on in this country."

Erickson wrapped up his argument by reminding Tur that a left-wing gunman opened fire on Republicans just last year.
"Both sides are to blame," he added.
