Democrat 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris was confronted about her past tweet calling the Jussie Smollett case a “modern-day lynching” — and her reaction is going viral.
In recent days, it has become increasingly likely that Smollett orchestrated the alleged “hate crime” against himself.
A reporter asked the Democrat to explain the tweet during a campaign stop.
“Which tweet?” Harris asked.
“[The tweet] about it is a ‘modern-day lynching’ … Jussie Smollett,” the reporter responded.
The Democrat is seen on video looking over at a member of her team and taking a very long, awkward pause and stuttering before attempting to answer.
“I will say this about that case: I think that the facts are still unfolding and I’m very concerned,” she said.
It's good that now that the case appears to be a hoax, the Democrat wants to wait for the facts to come out before drawing conclusions.

The latest reporting on the case suggest Smollett paid two men to fake the hate crime.
“Two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation tell CNN that Chicago Police believe actor Jussie Smollett paid two men to orchestrate an assault on him that he reported late last month,” CNN reported.
The report added: “The men, who are brothers, were arrested Wednesday but released without charges Friday after Chicago police cited the discovery of ‘new evidence.’”
What should Smollett's punishment be if he is found guilty of faking a hate crime?
