Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has broad, sweeping plans in mind for America, from free health care for all to free college for all. But one nagging question keeps hounding the Democratic Party’s socialist rising star: Who is going to pay for it all?

During a very friendly interview, Univision’s Jorge Ramos sat down with the Democratic U.S. House candidate for New York shortly before her election victory and asked her to answer that question.

“Medicare for all. Is it too expensive?” he inquired.

“No,” Ocasio-Cortez replied. “People often say, ‘Like, how are you going to pay for it?’ And, I find the question so puzzling because how do you pay for something that’s more affordable? How do you pay for cheaper rent?”

“You just pay for it!”

“We’re paying for it now,” she continued. “It’s not like we’re saying this whole system is free. It’s saying it’s free of cost at the point of service. So that means that you’re not delaying going to the dentist because you don’t have the cash at the point of service.”

But....that doesn’t explain who is paying for it.

“Tuition-free public universities for all. Who pays for that?” Ramos asked.

“So, we already pay for tuition-free K-12,” Ocasio-Cortez answered. “And in the same way that we as a country said we need to educate people to a 12th-grade level, our economy has evolved, and that means we need to make the decision to educate people to a trade school or collegiate level.”

“So we can afford that?” Ramos questioned.

“Absolutely, absolutely,” she replied without explaining how.

During the interview, she also explained why she wants to cancel all student debt in America without explaining who is going to pay colleges the massive amount of money that is owed them. Ocasio-Cortez also reiterated her plan for “100% renewable energy by 2035” in the U.S.

“Is it realistic?” Ramos asked.

“It’s as realistic as we have the courage to save future generations,” she replied.

And there goes the award for the biggest non-answer of the year.

Ocasio-Cortez also pushed for using “multi-billion dollar investment” to not only rebuild Puerto Rico but power it with “a 100% renewable energy grid.” Not surprisingly, she didn’t explain where those billions of dollars would come from to build an unbelievable number of energy-inefficient solar panels and wind turbines needed to power the U.S. territory of 3.3 million.
