A caravan of eight buses carrying nearly 400 migrants arrived in the northern border state of Sonora, Mexico on Monday. The most surprising aspect of the footage of the buses crossing the border was that they were escorted by state and federal police.
The police have been providing security for the group as it travels to the US border. The caravan also met with personnel from Civil Protection and other agencies during stops along the way. Medical personnel have also been providing care to those who have become ill as well as giving vaccinations.
The caravan is expected to make a stop in the state capital of Hermosillo before continuing on to Tijuana, just south of San Diego, California.

Last month, in reaction to the growing Central American migrant caravan hoping to enter the United States, President Donald Trump launched a Twitter attack directed at both the migrants and the Democrats.
According to the Associated Press, the caravan’s size has grown to nearly 5,000 migrants and it intends to reach the US/Mexico border despite efforts by Mexican officials to stop it.
Here is what the President of the United States had to say:
“Full efforts are being made to stop the onslaught of illegal aliens from crossing our Souther Border. People have to apply for asylum in Mexico first, and if they fail to do that, the U.S. will turn them away. The courts are asking the U.S. to do things that are not doable!”
“The Caravans are a disgrace to the Democrat Party. Change the immigration laws NOW!”
“Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!”
“Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms! So unfair to those who come in legally.”
“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”
