President Trump gets derided daily for wanting to build a border wall and enforce U.S. immigration laws. But what about those times, not long ago, when former President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) pushed for similar goals?
Many liberal college students haven’t heard about that part of our recent past. Conservative watchdog group Campus Reform took advantage of their ignorance and played border wall quotes from Obama, Hillary, and Schumer, leading them to believe Trump said them.
Their reaction when they found out that it was actually Democratic leaders who said such “hateful” things? Priceless.
Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips read off the following “Trump” quotes to anti-Trump students on the campus of American University in Washington, D.C.:
— “Illegal Immigration is wrong, plain and simple. Until the American people are convinced we will stop future flows of illegal immigration, we will make no progress.” (Schumer in 2009)
— “We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented and unchecked.” (Obama in 2005)
— “I voted numerous times… to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.” (Hillary in 2008)
The students reacted to the quotes, calling them “divisive,” “hateful,” “rude,” “discrimination,” “jingoist,” “unacceptable,” “dehumanizing,” and full of “racial biases.”
“What if I told you these were from Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton?” Phillips asked the students next.
Their reactions were incredible. Check it out:
Conservative media analyst Mark Dice gathered even more of those now-problematic border quotes and put them together in one astounding video compilation. He especially focused on the times Obama, Hillary, and Schumer bragged about lengthening the border wall to help keep more illegal aliens out. Check it out:
