Students on the campus of Marymount University in Virginia were shocked when someone read them racist-sounding quotes they thought were from President Trump.
And then they learned that Joe Biden said them.
Campus Reform’s Cabot Phillips questioned a number of students who said they’d vote for the former vice president to be the Democratic presidential nominee. He read off a series of controversial quotes and asked the who said them, Trump or Biden.
The first quote was, “You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent."
The second one was, “If my opponent wins, they’re going to put y’all back in chains," which was said to an audience of predominantly African-American attendees.
Barack Obama being called “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean,” was the third one.
“That’s a big yikes,” send one student in response.
Student after student said they believed Trump spoke those words. But then Phillips revealed that all the quotes came from Biden.
The students’ reactions were priceless. Watch:
Asked if they would still vote for Biden after hearing just three questionable quotes from his past, some students immediately changed their support for him. And only some of them said they’d do some more research into the quotes as well.
One young man who was stunned that all the quotes came from Biden then perfectly explained why he was so quick to attribute them to Trump.
“You hear a lot of media saying Trump usually is the one targeting and making fun of the other classes, but then you see Joe Biden making some executive decisions when he was vice president that you don’t really see in television,” he said.
