Incidents of verbal — and even physical — attacks against Republicans and conservatives have risen dramatically in recent days after liberal icons and Democratic leaders like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) have called on mobs of people to deny the Constitutional rights of those they disagree with.
In response, the Republican National Committee (RNC) has combined some of those sickening calls into a video montage to highlight the stark reality of what’s going on here and how this push for mob harassment could lead to something much worse.
The ad opens with Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) saying in a speech, "A few years ago, ideas that we talked about were thought to be fringe ideas, radical ideas, and extremist ideas — those ideas are now mainstream."
Video clips move across the screen, including one of liberal comedian Kathy Griffin holding up a fake, severed head of President Trump and another of a limousine torched by a racist mob at Trump’s inauguration.
“I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is heard saying.
Then Maxine Waters in shown speaking recently to a crowd of people, telling them that if they see anyone from Trump’s cabinet “in a restaurant, in a department store, and a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
Liberal comedian Samantha Bee is also shown insulting Ivanka Trump, talk show host Bill Maher is featured calling on people to bring on a recession to ruin Trump’s roaring economy, actor Johnny Depp is shown seeming to suggest than an actor should assassinate the president, pop star Madonna is featured talking about wanting to blow up the White House, and rapper Snoop Dogg is shown assassinating a clown version of Trump in his music video.
The minute-long video paints a disturbing picture of a political party that claims to be the party of peace and caring. And some of their violent words and actions are starting to come back to bite them.
Conservative journalist Laura Loomer filed assault charges against Waters after she said the congresswoman struck her three times when she was questioning her about her call for harassing Republicans and conservatives. A petition asking for 100,000 signatures to get Waters expelled from Congress is rapidly gaining supporters.
After White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant by its owner, the Red Hen eatery and its owner were denounced by Trump. The owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, had also organized a mob to harass the rest of Sanders’ family as they went to a different restaurant across the street. As a result of the bad press she’s getting now, Wilkinson has stepped down from her executive director role of an organization that seeks to improve the downtown area, Fox News reported.
And when an angry crowd began to shout at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), his wife, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, scolded them like children on camera.
