Sitting in the audience during President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration on Friday were a group of Angel Moms whose children were killed by illegal immigrants.
Trump is declaring a national emergency to secure the border and build a portion of the wall after Democrats refused to approve any funds through Congress.
During the press conference, CNN’s Jim Acosta asked Trump if he was merely “creating” the border crisis.
"Ask the Angel Moms,” Trump said, gesturing to the women. “Do you think I'm crating something? Ask these incredible women who lost their daughters and their sons.”
Following the event, the Angel Moms confronted Acosta personally at the White House.
One of the Angel Moms, Sabine Durden, had a discussion with Acosta while holding the remains of her son in a small urn. It was a powerful image.
Video later emerged showing the Angel Moms having a discussion with Acosta about the border crisis and why he never invites Angel Moms to appear on CNN.
“When are you going to have us on?” Durden asked. “I’ve been on CNN twice in 7 years.”
“I’ll do a live shot right now and you can stand behind me,” Acosta responded.
He added: “I just want you to know my heart goes out to you and I am not trying to take away anything.”

The CNN reporter then claimed his only objection to President Trump is that he refers to some in the media as “enemies of the people.”
“I can see his point though at times,” the Angel Mom shot back. “I’ve been exposed to this for 7 years.”
