House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her fellow Democrats caused a government shutdown when they refused to fund President Donald Trump’s border wall and other border security measures.
So what is Pelosi doing during the shutdown she started?
Vacationing at a fancy Hawaii resort.
“Fox News has confirmed that Pelosi, the House speaker-designate, is vacationing in Kona, Hawaii, and was seen there Thursday as well as Friday morning. Pelosi’s office on Friday did not return requests for comment about her whereabouts,” Fox News reported.
The report added: “Earlier Friday, The Washington Free-Beacon first reported that Pelosi was spotted at the Fairmont Orchid resort. According to that resort’s website, guests ‘are treated to luxury resort amenities featuring our Spa Without Walls, a 10,000 sq.ft. oceanfront swimming pool and 24-hour fitness center.’”
It must be nice to be a Democrat.
Pelosi is the favorite to become speaker of the House once Democrats officially take over next week.
In a stark contrast, President Trump canceled his plans to spend Christmas in Florida and stayed at the White House to work amid the government shutdown.
"He canceled his plans for Christmas, now he's canceled his plans for New Year's," White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney said on Friday. "The president is very heavily engaged in this.”
Trump threatened to shutdown the border completely on Friday if Democrats continue to obstruct his efforts to secure the border.
“We will be forced to close the Southern Border entirely if the Obstructionist Democrats do not give us the money to finish the Wall & also change the ridiculous immigration laws that our Country is saddled with,” the president tweeted.
He added: “Hard to believe there was a Congress & President who would approve!”
Do you support Trump’s handling of the border crisis so far?
